Education & Faith Formation
The Christian Service Commission at St. Stanislaus Kostka is a vibrant and very active organization.
It's goal is to advance the Church's social justice principles by demonstrating a preference for the
poorest and most vulnerable among us, especially those who are grieving, sick in body, mind,
or spirit, disabled, lacking basic material necessities, the unborn, the imprisoned and the forgotten.
For more information on these ministries, contact the Parish Office.
Inreach
Hospitality
The Commission coordinates volunteers to plan, host, and serve at the many special parish gatherings
throughout the year. One of the strengths of our parish community is that of convening. Gathering
together in faith to celebrate builds us up in the Lord and strengthens us for His service.
Clergy Appreciation/Vocation Awareness
Each October we honor our clergy and demonstrate our support for vocations
in the church. We recognize the challenges facing our clergy and express gratitude for their
tender care.
Newcomers Committee
Each year, 30-40 new families and individuals join our parish. Each is extended a formal
welcome via a personal contact and gift basket.
The Health Cabinet & Parish Nurses
Jesus demonstrated concern for the body, mind and spirit of each person. Our Health
Cabinet continues this care by continually evaluating our parish health needs, and assisting the
Parish Nurses, who provide a variety of services to our parishioners.
Outreach
Christmas Giving Tree
Each year St. Stans parishioners demonstrate an outpouring of support for the needs of others by purchasing
Christmas gifts for those in nursing homes, foster care, local shelters for women and children fleeing
violent domestic situations, and those who have minimal financial resources.
Financial Outreach
A quarterly tithe of parish monthly offerings is given directly to individuals and organizations in need of support
and who promote Christian virtue in society. The Outreach Committee meets regularly to review requests and
prayerfully make decisions. Some recipients of past financial donations include The Crop Walk, The
Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, The Walk for Warmth, Right To Life, Covenant House and Catholic Relief Services.
Social Justice
Christian service requires striving for human justice, especially for those who cannot fight for themselves.
The unborn are the most vulnerable members in all society. They have no voice but ours. Ongoing education,
fundraising and awareness activities in the parish collectively strive to promote a culture of life with
the aim of protecting the weakest among us, in the believe that every human being has "The Right To Life."
